Ces torchons brodés sont un travail au long cours. Ils expriment les corvées bien souvent dévolues aux femmes et qui n'en finissent jamais: lessive, repassage, aspirateur, cuisine, bains des enfants... Et quand on pense enfin être tranquille, et ben non, il y a toujours quelque chose à faire et on recommence!
Le torchon, symbole ménager, allié à la broderie, art féminin par excellence, les motifs se répètent comme le font toutes ces tâches. Petit à petit, le torchon est plein, et un autre prend le relais, c'est à n'en plus finir!

The cloth, household symbol, combined with embroidery, female art par excellence, the patterns repeat themselves as do all these tasks. Gradually, the cloth is full, and another takes over, it's never-ending!
